In biblical
times one must follow the law in order to be in good standing with
God
(Deuteronomy
27:26 Cursed be he
that confirmeth not all the
words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen)
James
2:10 For
whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point,
he is guilty of all)
Nehemiah
9:26-27 Nevertheless
they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law
behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against
them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great
provocations. 27 Therefore
thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them:
and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou
heardest them from
heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them
saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.
It
had to be like that because sin was a problem and if it was not dealt
with it would cause disastrous consequences like for example: King
James Bible Num. 16:32
And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
And
why did it happen, because the leader of the house sinned against God
and the wages of sin death, which was swift.
Before
Christ came, we were bound to the law for salvation, we were to keep
all the laws if we wanted to be good with God.
I
didn't let this article to simmer so I can write it better but this
is my thought when it comes to the Laws of God:
We
are not bound to the law for salvation;
We
are bound with Christ through His Blood, through the remissions of
Sins for Salvation.
But
God wants us to follow the Law in obedience and in love and not for
salvation.
2
John 1:6 (NIV)
6 And
this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have
heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
